fighting

Swimsuit editorials are normally boring as hell, but Daria kicking a bunch of Rourke-looking-dude's asses. I'd buy that bikini. Kudos to you Paris Vogue, Kudos to you.

what a beautiful face i have found in this place

Art and models haven't been this literally combined since Lucien Freud painted a preggers Kate Moss. Identical twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Adeniji recently ordered up some beauties, Alys, Imogen, Thea and Lydia below, from london agencies and rendered them in these ethereal vintage palettes. Gorgeous I think, reminiscent of Freud, Schiele and a really good Laura Mercier ad.

two, one, four!

Topshop's 214 Magazine showcased their clothes using some beautiful methods, including these shots by photographer Mel Bles. We'll be visiting more of his work later on. For now just enjoy the dreamy fashion.

beautifully mutilated, insanely antiquated

Hedi Slimane not only poured indie rockers into tight jeans, inspired Lagerfeld to lose a few dozen pounds and brought mixtape rock back to the runway, he also takes beautiful pictures! Shooting only (i think) in black and white, his work is always modern romantic and on the young and burnt out side. Think Ryan McGinley meets Nan Kempner meets Mario Sorrenti. Raise your glasses kids.

my mum thinks she's in love with you

We get it. You look like your mum. And we love it.

givin' me excitations

I don't normally love the fashion editorials in Teen Vogue, but a great spread by Thomas Schenk caught my eye this month. The confluence of Tracy Feith for Target, Pierre Hardy's neoprene shoes and jumpsuit-mania have me all up in surf-fashion's face. 'Wave Riders' captures it brilliantly in flawless color and proportion. Btdubs, I'm totally vibing TeenV's effort at more abstract styling and photos that speak to readers more than advertise the clothes. I mean, it's the least they could do after that God-awful Miley cover.

perfection is perfected

IMG's new Brazilian, Rya, has a great look for right now, and seemingly a lot of attitude. She lists her current obsession as 'my career'. Meanwhile, my current obsession is Rya's perfect hair. Got a feeling this girl will go far. Can't wait to see her in the glossies and feel a little bit badly about myself.

one more time you fine foxy thing, you

I can't tell if Isabel Lucas is a great dresser or just really, really good looking. Either way it's refreshing to see a starlet with a penchant for patterns and flats over stiletto/jeans combos. I've always thought there was a lot to be said for over-accessorizing and I think turquoise jelly bracelets and headscarfs happily fit the bill. This girl's a-ok in my book.

girl, you'll be a woman soon

While I lurrrrve the Queen B, I've been fairly nonplussed with the press that Blake Lively's been doing lately, particularly the rigor mortis looking Allure cover this month. However, I'm jamming on Taylor Momsen's, shoot for the May Nylon. Little J's got range, maybe not as an actress (who knows) but def as a model.

hot town, summer in the city

J'adore this shoot from an 2007 Another Mag. Hilary and Carolina look so 70's, catskills, 'nobody puts baby in the corner', if you know what I mean. With wedges, rompers and prints back in style, it really announces summer.

baby we can live forever

There are a lot of young artists who are fashionable. Dress well, date models, inspire Marc Jacobs. But in my mind few have the branche sensibilities of Elizabeth Peyton. It's not that her subjects are so well dressed or that she's a party circuit darling. It just strikes me that if she were to take photographs they'd straddle the line between foreign fashion magazine shoots and museum shows. And I'm sure she'd be all over the bloody blogosphere.

with or without my best intentions

I caved, I got the shoes. And yes, I know I have been wearing jean shorts too much lately, but I'm busy pretending it's summertime!

midnight at the oasis

NY Times followed in suit of many bloggers and did a piece on the salespeeps at Topshop for this week's style section. I'm particularly fond of this buttery leather jacket with harem sleeves, nowhere to be found on the Topshop website. Would love to get my hands on it, it wears so well.

and that's why I left california

So I'm sick of my skinny jeans and red ankle boots - yes the ones I swore I'd never get sick of. Now, I'm kind of into the Prairie look for summertime. It's hipster meets girly all at once. I mean, if Balmain is succumbing to it, who am I to argue.

i was made to love her

A femme-y take on the YSL Cage shoes. Only $118 from bcbgirls. They've got my heart thumping, big-time.

i am a camera

Those Ronsons sure do attract pretty girls. Loads of fashionables at the C. Ronson party at the Chateau last night, some more willing to pose for photos than others. Though if I had that RVCA dress I might strike a pose too.

green suits you miss portman, miss williams

Francesco Vezzoli has been celebrated for the past handful of biennales worldwide, collaborating with Miuccia Prada and a slate full of fashionable folks. He's hit the nail on the head with lovelies Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman, two of the best dressed girls in town, in his new piece Greed. Below is the ever lovely trailer, those of you in Rome are lucky dogs, you can wander over to Gagosian Gallery and check it out.

wait only for my boot heels to be wandering

If you've ever admired those champagne, dreamland ed's from Nylon each month then you've appreciated the work of Sky ParrotT. She's actually a wonderful fashion photographer playing into the tone of the styling so well. Below is one of my favorite shoots of hers from Jalouse. While it's not that new, I do feel majorette fever and knee highs coming on strong for Spring.

2.4.09

clotted cream and katie moss

While there's nothing revolutionary about Kate Moss's new Topshop line, there are a few gems to be found and as a collection, it's probably her most cohesive to date. Katie's attachment to the Liberty print and English roses isn't just timely but sets the classic UK style theme from tea dresses to touches of carnaby street and lacey underthings. Throw in skinny jeans some of that fringe and metallic that she pulls off so well and kiddo, this is London!

the girl with the most cake

Natty Vodianova all dolled up to look like Courtney Love. I'm ever so happy that the 90's are back.
